Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Siara graduated from James Madison High School and went on to attend John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. After working in real estate for a few years, Siara decided to go to law school. While attending law school, Siara worked as a legal assistant at Usher Law Group, where she learned to litigate criminal, matrimonial and civil cases. Siara was then offered an opportunity to complete her clinical externship with the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County.
Upon passing the New York State Bar exam, Siara was immediately offered a job working as a public defender in Long Island, New York. After almost four years of working for The Legal Aid Society, Siara decided to open her own law firm, continuing to practice predominately in criminal defense, as well as traffic defense.
During her four years working as a Public Defender, Siara handled thousands of cases from arraignment to disposition, including DWI/DUI cases, Domestic Violence misdemeanors and felonies, misdemeanors such as petit larceny, possession, violations of probation, and a wide range of felony charges.
Siara is Assigned Counsel to the Nassau and Suffolk 18B Criminal Panels where she represents conflict defenders who cannot afford representation. Siara is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Suffolk County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She also is a licensed real estate broker, insurance broker, and New York State notary.
